Dear Colleague,

My membership in the Planned Giving Group of Connecticut for the past twenty-five years has been a professional affiliation as valued as any I have ever had. As PGGCT’s current Vice President for Membership, I strongly encourage you to consider your own membership.

Each member of PGGCT is a part of a robust network of non-profit professionals and representatives from the for-profit world, notably from the financial, legal, and consulting professions. You will meet regularly with colleagues who face many of the same challenges as do you, and you will hear of new, creative ways those challenges are being addressed. Our Group is also a forum for meeting new colleagues from the planned giving community with whom you can compare notes and share experiences. Each of our meetings is enriched by presentations from the most respected members of our fields who offer practical information that can be applied to our daily work.

“Planned Giving” need not be your job’s sole focus or responsibility in order for you to benefit from membership. Many of our members are Development “generalists”, who bring a wide range of experience, from the novice to the expert. Our diversity is one of our strengths, ensuring a wide array of experience and perspectives.

PGGCT meets four times a year, on the second Thursday in January, March, May, and November, usually with two morning presentations, followed by lunch. We also present an annual All-Day Conference which includes sessions for those getting started in gift planning as well as for the advanced practitioner.

Annual membership in PGGCT is but $160 and includes the all regular meetings and lunches, and a discounted registration rate for the All-Day Conference. Members also receive special benefits, such as invitations to periodic programs, virtual conferences presented by the National Committee for Planned Giving, job postings, and other timely communications. And you simply cannot put a value on the benefit derived from the people you will meet!

Feel free to contact me directly at 203-573-6029 or at tmissett@wtbyhosp.org with any questions you may have, or simply to talk about the benefits of a PGGCT membership. Best wishes. I hope to see you at a PGGCT meeting soon.

Sincerely,
Thomas R. Missett
Vice President for Membership
